can i connect a sound mixer to my cam

hi i showed here before my problem with my external mic wich makes cracks when i make any move while i hold it so some people here said to me that mic is so sensitive and my d8 sony cam have no controls for it so all i ask is could i buy a sound mixer and connect it to the cam and mic to control mic level and filters and so on will this work thx

Uh, I think it would be... I'd try it with someone else's mixer before making a purchase, though.
